The destruction by fire of the Koroglu family's house in Mitrovica is the next event that undermines efforts to protect and preserve Kosovo's cultural heritage. This cultural heritage monument months ago was also facing the risk of collapse.

EC Ma Ndryshe reminds that the cases of fires in protected monuments are practices seen even before in the cities of Kosovo and considers that an increased commitment of the institutions responsible for the prevention of cases of this nature is needed.

EC calls on the law enforcement institutions to investigate the case until it is fully clarified, and to act with the force of the law. It also calls on the responsible authorities to increase care and investment in this area, in order to convey the message that efforts to destroy cultural heritage monuments will not be successful.
