The recent interventions on the road to Kroi i Pashës (Pasha Çeshme), initiated by the municipal bodies of Prizren, have provoked the reaction of interest groups as well as citizens, who have estimated that in this way nature is being degraded in this area. At the same time, it has been requested that the competent state bodies take measures and stop this project.

The Municipality of Prizren has announced on social networks that based on the requests for the adjustment of the existing walking and cycling path, the Directorate of Public Services has started the intervention for the rehabilitation of the road, the adjustment of a path for cyclists, pedestrians and sportsmen who want to develop outdoor activity. It is emphasized there that the DSHP is fulfilling the request of the cyclists and that it is fulfilling its obligations for the maintenance of public spaces.

EC Ma Ndryshe considers that the clarifications of the Municipality of Prizren on such an important issue is insufficient or superficial and do not coincide with the principles of full transparency towards the public. In the following days, EC will investigate the course of this project and will make the findings of this research public.

At the same time, it calls on the responsible bodies to undertake all measures for the protection and preservation of nature in this area.

For several years, EC has been asking the municipal bodies of Prizren to draw up public policies with a comprehensive approach, so that its projects are sustainable and at the service of all community groups, and as a result, cases of this nature do not occur.
