Meeting with Residents of the “Vëllezërit Stavileci” Neighborhood in Prizren Highlights Urban Challenges

EC Ma Ndryshe organized a meeting with residents of the “Vëllezërit Stavileci” neighborhood in Prizren within the framework of the “Public Spaces 4 All” project. Representatives of the “Hidroregjioni Jugor” attended the meeting, while KEDS officials, although invited, were not present.

During the discussion, residents raised key concerns affecting their community, including the supply and quality of drinking water, as well as the outdated water infrastructure, particularly asbestos pipes and the need for their replacement.
Issues related to electricity supply were also addressed, such as the condition of electrical poles and the excessive number of cables attached to them.

In addition, participants highlighted the shortage of parking spaces in the neighborhood and emphasized the need for practical and sustainable solutions. Residents also shared alternative proposals to address this challenge.

Representatives from KRU “Hidroregjioni Jugor” provided clarifications regarding current services and encouraged citizens to report issues through official channels and submit written requests to ensure concrete solutions.

The meeting concluded with a field visit alongside the head of the local neighborhood council, during which the identified issues were inspected firsthand, with particular attention given to the condition of the electrical poles.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the “Public Spaces 4 All” project, implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe with the support of the German Government and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
