Municipality of Prizren organized the first public discussion related to the proposal for regulation for participation of public in spatial planning.

In the public discussion, officials of the Directorate of Urbanism and Spatial Planning presented to the participants the content of this proposal for regulation. During the public appearance, they admitted that hitherto practices for involvement of public in spatial planning were not satisfactory. Therefore, they emphasized that they welcome the contribution of the civil society for the implementation of actions enabling the advancement of the involvement of public in this process, as according to them, this is a support for their work.

Representatives of “EC Ma Ndryshe” explained that the initiative for such Regulation aroused during the contacts with directors of Municipal Assembly, which was followed by the engagement of departments of Municipal Executive, opposition, civil society and UN-Habitat, for drafting the concerned proposal for regulation. This bylaw aims at increasing the participation of the public in spatial planning, as well as providing more qualitative contribution for various plans and projects of Municipality. 
 
On the other hand, the participants in the public discussion provided their remarks regarding the formulation of certain provisions and proposed to add certain Articles. Officials of the Municipality of Prizren emphasized that public consultation for concerned proposal for regulation will continue in following days, in cooperation with activists of civil society.
