International Day Against Corruption
Every year, December 9 is marked as International Anti-Corruption Day, as it was established in 2005 by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
On this day, EC Ma Ndryshe carried out the activity of distributing postcards with the aim of increasing the awareness of citizens against corruption, fighting and preventing this phenomenon. The postcards were distributed as a gift and as a symbolic sign of the phenomenon of corruption as an illegal act. Through this activity, it is intended to improvise a situation in which citizens could face a corrupt affair in their daily life through giving or receiving material goods for personal gain in illegal ways. The postcards also contain the correct information that enables citizens to refer to where they should be addressed and report on this phenomenon.
The activity was carried out in the Municipality of Prizren and Prishtina. During the day, the activity is expected to continue in the Municipality of Gjakova, where we will be joined by the local NGO Activism Roots.
EC, through this activity, called on the citizens to be as cooperative as possible in the fight against corruption as the main obstacle that diminishes the chances for further development of the country starting from the political, economic and social aspects. As well as, it invites the institutions to be transparent and accountable in the performance of their respective duties and responsibilities.
