“One Wish For My Street” Initiative Continues with Residents of the “Terzinjëve” Neighborhood in Prizren

Within the framework of the initiative “One Wish For My Street,” EC Ma Ndryshe has continued its participatory activities with residents of the “Terzinjëve” neighborhood in Prizren, specifically along the streets “Avdi Shala” and “Ismet Jashari - Kumanova.” The aim of this activity is to gather citizens’ requests, concerns, and needs related to public spaces in their neighborhoods.
During the activity, a map of the “Terzinjëve” neighborhood titled “One Wish for My Street” was placed in public spaces, serving as an interactive tool for collecting comments, suggestions, and concerns from residents. The activity was carried out through spontaneous interactions with passersby, including students, youth, women, mothers with strollers, and pensioners.
Residents shared the concerns and needs they face in their daily lives within the neighborhood. Among the most frequently mentioned issues were damaged roads, the lack of residential parking spaces, vehicles parked on sidewalks, the overloaded cable infrastructure, waste management challenges, and the absence of waste bins in some frequently used areas.
Other concerns raised included the presence of stray dogs on several streets of the neighborhood, insufficient public lighting in certain areas, as well as the need for better maintenance of public spaces and the proper management of abandoned buildings.
Along the main streets of the neighborhood, which experience heavy traffic, residents requested the addition of bicycle lanes, the installation of more waste bins, and an increase in greenery and tree planting. They also emphasized the need for safer pedestrian crossings and the creation of additional parking spaces for residents.
All comments and requests collected during this activity will be forwarded to the relevant institutions with the aim of addressing them and improving living conditions for residents of the “Terzinjëve” neighborhood.
This activity was implemented within the framework of the project “Public Spaces 4 All,” carried out by EC Ma Ndryshe with the support of the German Government and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
