“One Wish For My Street” Initiative Continues with Residents of the Bazhdarhane Neighborhood in Prizren

As part of the “One Wish For My Street” initiative, EC Ma Ndryshe continued its participatory activities with residents of the Bazhdarhane neighborhood in Prizren, along “Adem Jashari” and “Ahmet Prishtina” streets and the surrounding areas.

The purpose of this activity was to collect residents’ requests, concerns, and needs regarding public spaces and living conditions in their neighborhood.

During the activity, a neighborhood map was placed in a public space and served as an interactive tool for gathering comments, suggestions, and reports of local issues from residents. The activity was carried out through direct engagement with citizens of different age groups.

Residents shared the challenges and needs they encounter in their daily lives.

Among the most frequently raised issues were the poor condition of certain streets and sidewalks, the lack of residential parking spaces, insufficient public lighting in some areas, and inadequate accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Participants also highlighted the need to widen sidewalks and create safer conditions for pedestrian movement.

During the discussions, residents also raised concerns related to public safety, including the presence of uncovered electrical boxes and the need to repair and better organize utility poles and electrical cables. They further requested increased police patrols in areas where speeding motorcycles have been reported, as well as measures to address the issue of stray dogs.

At the same time, residents called for better maintenance of parks and public spaces, including urban furniture and other public amenities.

All comments and requests collected during this activity will be forwarded to the relevant institutions with the aim of addressing these issues and improving living conditions for the residents of the Bazhdarhane neighborhood.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the “Public Spaces 4 All” project, implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
