The parking of official vehicles near the minaret of the Arasta Mosque in the city center has become a habit for officials of the Municipality of Prizren.

EC Ma Ndryshe, over a period of several weeks, has monitored this area and observed that the space near the cultural heritage monument is frequently used as parking for official vehicles.

EC Ma Ndryshe reminds that the provisions of the Law on the Historic Center of Prizren limit activities that obstruct views and free access to the monument, always with the aim of protecting the authenticity and integrity of this protected zone.

Moreover, the minaret of the Arasta Mosque is an integral part of the “Historical Trail,” a project under which cobblestone paving and urban furniture have been installed to create connections between several monuments in the Historic Center of Prizren.

Therefore, EC Ma Ndryshe calls on the municipal authorities of Prizren to respect the integrity of the minaret of the Arasta Mosque, a cultural heritage monument under permanent protection, and to commit to creating adequate parking spaces in the city of Prizren.
