Our Common Heritage
Today the Program on Heritage and Diversity held the event Our Common Heritage, which was organized within the joint EU/CoE Project Support to the Promotion of Cultural Diversity. This event strives to promote inclusive approach to cultural heritage through the involvement of marginalized groups, people with special needs, people with impaired hearing and/or speech, as well as youth.
During this event that was focused on the Historical Center of Prizren a number of sites and handicraft workshops were visited, where people with special needs were assisted for their access, while people with impaired hearing or speech had the opportunity to get first-hand introduction with cultural heritage values through professional information translated in their own language.
The event was complemented with the inclusion of youth and primary school students of Suharekë, Malishevë and Prizren, who were present in different locations of the Historical Center and involved in painting the cultural heritage sites and documenting their values.
Our Common Heritage is a joint activity of the Heritage and Diversity Program in five regions of Kosovo, which will end up with the central event in Prishtina on 17 May 2015.
