"One Wish For My Street" Continues with Residents of the Tusuz Neighborhood in Prizren

As part of the "One Wish For My Street" initiative, EC Ma Ndryshe continued its participatory activities with the residents of the Tusuz neighbourhood in Prizren, engaging in discussions with citizens from "Xhevat Berisha", "Selajdin Berisha", "Bashkim Suka", "Ymridin Qengaj" streets, and the surrounding areas. The purpose of this activity was to collect residents' requests, concerns, and needs related to public spaces and the quality of life in their neighbourhood.

During the activity, a map of the neighbourhood was placed in the public space, serving as an interactive tool for identifying community problems, proposals, and requests. The activity was carried out through direct meetings with citizens of different age groups, who shared their experiences and concerns regarding public infrastructure and public services.

Among the issues most frequently highlighted by residents were the lack of waste bins, bicycle lanes, and children's playgrounds. Residents also requested the creation of a shared neighbourhood park, the planting of more trees, and improvements to public lighting on streets where lamps are damaged or lighting is missing.

During the discussions, concerns related to public infrastructure and traffic were also raised. Residents requested the rehabilitation of roads and cobblestone streets in several parts of the neighbourhood, the construction of sidewalks where they are lacking, the creation of parking spaces for residents, and interventions in the sewage system, including stormwater drainage.

At the same time, difficulties caused by vehicles occupying sidewalks were identified, hindering the movement of pedestrians and persons with disabilities.

Residents also requested improved accessibility for persons with disabilities on several streets within the neighbourhood and raised concerns regarding the presence of stray dogs, calling for institutional action to address this issue.

All comments, proposals, and requests collected during this activity will be submitted to the relevant institutions, with the aim of having them reviewed and encouraging concrete measures to improve public spaces and the quality of life for the residents of the Tusuz neighbourhood.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the 'Public Spaces 4 All' project, implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
