Students of the “Luciano Motroni” School in Prizren engage in sustainable waste management and greening of the school spaces

At the “Luciano Motroni” High School in Prizren, an activity dedicated to promoting sustainable waste management and raising environmental awareness was carried out, based on an idea and project developed by the students of this school.
In a framework of this activity, bins for separating waste into different categories were installed, aiming to encourage recycling practices within the school premises. This concrete intervention seeks to influence students’ daily behaviors, guiding them toward a more responsible approach to waste management.
In addition, as part of the greening initiative, linden tree saplings were planted in the school yard, contributing to environmental improvement and the creation of a healthier space for the school community.
This action, both symbolic and practical, highlights the importance of preserving nature and increasing green areas.
The activity also served as a practical educational opportunity for students, helping them better understand the importance of biodiversity and environmental responsibility. Through active participation, students not only gained new knowledge but were also encouraged to become agents of positive change in their community.
This activity is carried out within the framework of the project “Green Horizons – Youth and Community Green Transition Initiative in Western Kosovo,” implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe in partnership with Care International Balkans, with the support of the European Union, and with Syri i Vizionit as a co-implementing partner.
