EC Ma Ndryshe marked the World Environment Day by planting trees in the public space near the New Park in the city of Gjakova.

Participants for this intervention were the Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Ardian Gjini, Chairperson of the Municipality, Mrs. Arbëreshë Kuqi, head of the Waste Management Sector, Mrs. Albana Bakalli and all women decision-makers in the Municipality of Gjakova.

This intervention was initiated by the research "Green Public Spaces in Gjakovë" (https://bit.ly/3J0rXUF), where 41% of the surveyed citizens said that their city needs more green spaces. At the same time, meetings were held with representatives of the Directorate of Public Services, who contributed to the cleaning of the space in question, transforming it from a space occupied by cars into a green space accessible to all residents.

EC will continue with the implementation of similar activities, depending on the requests presented in the meetings with the different community groups.
