What is noise pollution?
By noise pollution we mean exposure to any kind of unwanted sound. Unfortunately, every day we are faced with a constant stream of trucks, motorcycles and cars roaring through the streets of our cities.
According to figures published by the European Agency, about 113 million people suffer from noise pollution that comes as a result of road traffic. In most European countries, more than half of the urban population is exposed to road noise levels greater than or equal to 55 decibels.

In Kosovo, the law No. 02/L-102, which, referring to EU standards, determines that the permitted noise level during the day is 55 decibels and at night 35 decibels. (https://bit.ly/3Aqmxhu?fbclid=IwAR21yPexxbBoSDrPJ5mRBrC6IaSyIJPQ3oJ0BlkejEPZAOnxXPc6CV32j_M)
In addition to health problems affecting increased heart rate and high blood pressure, which can be fatal to humans, noise also affects wildlife activities such as: finding desirable habitat and mates, avoiding predators, protecting their young and establishing territories, thus increasing the risk of biodiversity loss.
